I'm thrilled to announce that I will start as a Presidential Assistant Professor in Neuroscience at the City U of Hong Kong in Jan 2026!

I have RA, PhD (funded for 4 years), and postdoc positions available! Come work with me on neural network models + behavioral/neuroimaging experiments on human memory! CityUHK is a great university and an English-speaking environment, and HK is English-friendly in general!

If you are interested in the Neuroscience PhD program, please read the CityU PhD program info page carefully, and make sure you are aware of the "Minimal Entrance Requirements" of the program. The start date is flexible, if the regular September start date is too early/late!

Please contact me with your CV if you are interested in working together!

Hi, my name is Qihong Lu (吕其鸿). I use artificial neural networks as model organisms to study computational principles of learning and memory. I'm currently an Alan Kanzer Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University, working with Daphna Shohamy, and Stefano Fusi. I am affiliated with Center for Theoretical Neuroscience and The Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute.

I received my PhD in Cognitive Psychology at Princeton University, where I worked on neural network models of optimal policies for episodic memory with Ken Norman and Uri Hasson. I received my B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I worked with Tim Rogers. I originally came from Shanghai, China.
